The Herb that saves your Skin, Kidneys and Yoni from their desert residency
+ a Moon Milk Recipe to rejuvenate after intimacy
In this dispatch:
The herb that will save your Skin, Kidneys and Vagina from their desert residency. Oh, and I forgot to mention that it benefits your (and your partner’s) fertility, too.
Why today’s Moon is connected to Rohini, the goddess known to increase your abilities to create. So long as you look for the water in your life (both literally and symbolically): with gratitude, you can multiply it.
रोहिणी - isn't it beautiful? I just wanted to share the shapes of the cosmic language that is Sanskrit with you before translating today's Moon theme in the alphabet as I know it: Rohini.
Rohini is closely related to Chandra, the Moon God. She wears the colour of blushing and passion, a.k.a. red. Her unique qualities increase the procreators drive (creating nothing less than LIFE). Like every Nakshatra (Moon theme or life lesson), Rohini, too, comes with a verse: "The procreator's arousal needs moisture for plants." It's true. We need the water element to grow pretty much anything. Water stands for dreams, love, connection, arousal, nourishment and creativity. Today's Moon is also in Gemini, a Vata sign. Meaning it's predominant in the Air and Space elements, which are the opposite of the thirst quencher we just discussed.
To sum up: it's a good day to go and nourish your seeds, whichever you have recently chosen to prioritise: a relationship, a new self-care practice, a creative project or even the wish to conceive. But it also means that you may need some herbal magic to soothe and ground that Vata Dosha (which, by the way, is typical for this season at large). So I guess it's a perfect day to introduce you to one of my dearest botanicals: Vidari Kanda.
Vidari Kanda (Ipomoea digitata) is commonly known as Kudzu. It is one of my favourite ingredients in blends for those who feel like their Skin, Kidneys, or Vagina has migrated to the desert.
Vidari is a hugemungous root and tastes kind 'a, sweet. But D.W.: you won't have to work it like a pumpkin to enjoy its hydrating, nourishing, aphrodisiac and womb healing qualities since most apothecaries will give it to you in a ready to consume powder. Can't find it anywhere? I've got you covered.
Here is what Vidari Kanda is good at:
Hydrating the kidneys, relieving the lower back, rejuvenating the reproductive tract in both men and women, toning the uterus after birth, increasing breast milk and boosting the libido - all the whilst also benefiting your complexion.
Make Vidari Moon Milk
Get small portions of Vidari Kanda, Bala and Ashwagandha (all powdered) from your local apothecary or online. Banyan Botanicals has got each one of these. Blend your powders in a small, airtight container, making sure the texture is nice & silky, free from any clumps. One hour before bed, you can use a teaspoon to place some of the powder in the palm of your cupped right hand. When the heart of your hand is full, you have established your daily dose. If that seems a bit much, you can consume one heaped teaspoon of silky powder instead. Next, place it in a blender together with 10 soaked almonds, a pinch of cardamom and 2 tablespoons of coconut sugar to taste. Add 200 ml spring water (filtered water is fine too) and blend until smooth. You may blend it for two cycles if that means your Vidari Moon Milk will come out nice and warm. Pour in your fave cup, light a candle or three and relax.
Tip: Ayurveda also recommends restoring your nutrition and hydration levels (Ojas) after sex. Double the recipe quantities for a nourishing drink for you and your partner, adding three dates.
Tip two: Don’t feel like shopping for these herbs individually, nor like blending them by hand? My herbal pantry has got these, too, as I frequently use them for clients who book in for their personalised herbal blend discovery. As a valued e-mail list member, you are also welcome to request this juicy combination in reply to this e-mail. I will then ship it to you at the price of a refill, which saves you 50% 💕
Have a wonderful weekend,
Deborah Rose xxx
P.S.: Fun fact. If you happen to have a blue gemstone (like aquamarine), this is the night to place it under your pillow. That is because the blue light is similar to tonight's Vata Moon (Gemini). It stimulates creativity and improves communication. You may also have it in your right hand whilst sipping on your homemade Vidari Moon Milk, following the recipe I shared in this e-mail.
