Happy Scorpio Season! I hope you’re feeling grounded, cosy and inspired with Scorpio’s Kapha energy. Interesting side note: Kapha is also the energy of your Womb’s best friend Venus, the planet where 1 day on Earth lasts 5832 hours. Venus is the planet of fertility, (self) love, art and beauty. And so I can’t help but wonder… Will our days last longer when we invest into a Kapha-ish lifestyle (think: a week filled with Venus’ Favourites + the nurturing & magical qualities of the Moon)??
Regardless of the answer, I thought it’d be a good time to share the Lunar Awareness into a little more depth with you today. Scorpio loves a good ritual, and so does the Vedic Tradition. Meditating with the Waxing Moon (so between New and Full Moon) has been practiced for centuries as a way to connect to Shakti: the female, nurturing, sensual and creative energy. Plus, due to the link between the moon cycle and the menstrual cycle, waxing moon meditations also support you on your TTC journey (and just as much on a not-trying-to-conceive-journey-without-contraception-journey).
Traditionally, the Waxing Moon meditations were done in junction with the Lunar Deities. As we progress through the waxing phase, each notch of the moon (so each night) has their own deity (“nitya”) to meditate on. According to Mother Maya, who shares these meditations in her book Women's Power To Heal, all of these deities fall under “the Goddess Lolita, who is an eternal reminder of the infallible truth of Self - that your conviction must remain firm amid the changing landscape that is human nature.”
The meditations are intended for your wellbeing, the community as a whole and for women from all traditions.
Todays meditation: 2nd Notch Of The Waxing Moon
Each meditation starts with a mantra to the Mother Goddess: “Aim Hrim Shrim” and is followed by an affirmation dedicated to the self and today’s specific Nitya. Today - and on all 2nd days of the Waxing Moon - that is the Moon Goddess of Fertility (Bhagamalini). So here it goes: “Om Hrim Bhagamaliniyai Shri Padukam Pujayami Tarpayami Namah”
Let’s repeat the mantra as a whole:
Aim Hrim Shrim — Om Hrim Bhagamaliniyai Shri Padukam Pujayami Tarpayami Namah.
Translated as: I worship and nourish myself at the feet of the deity of fertility (Bhagamaliniyai)
*The mantra should be repeated for a minimum of 18 times. However, the ideal repetition is 108. You can sit in Lotus, with a candle light in front of you. Preferably just before dusk or dawn 🌚. Whilst you’re at it, you may envision the Sanskrit symbol आ, pronounced as “AAH”. This is the seed mantra (key sound) for todays Mantra at large.
For more Mantra’s I would recommend getting Maya’s book Women's Power To Heal in your bookcase, so you can read Chapter 16 whenever you need a refresher, or would like to deepen your moon meditation for fertility support (or as a reference for natural birth control support, of course).
Yoni Soaks To Heal Your Womb & Past Trauma’s
Yoni Bath or Yoni Steam Questions? Join me this Sunday!
Your Womb houses your subconsciousness. It’s why trauma and a compromised menstrual cycle or other women’s health complaints often go hand-in-hand. In my last Ayurveda drop I told you lots and lots (I am sorry, the e-mail was so long I could have submitted it as a manuscript) about Uttara Vasti, Ayurveda’s ancient Womb-Moon Medicine in which you organise three monthly *herbalised* moon baths for your Yoni. The practice is simple, the herbs do the work. Besides creating cycle awareness, a moment of deep self care and Yoni Rejuvenation, these baths support women on their healing journey from PMS, Endometriosis, PCOS and recurring vaginal infections.
Today (the second day of the waxing moon) and tomorrow are considered the most potent days to treat yourself to this heavenly yoni bath. So let’s get your Triphala and Aloe Gel or this Woman's Tea for an easy-make (check out with code ayurvedagoddess for 10% off) ready and let the ritual begin <3
PS.: Rather go through the ritual as a collective? Following the workshop with doctor Chelynn this Sunday I will open a free of charge study group that runs for 3 months, so we can go through the ritual together, share experiences, offer support and connect to Shakti as a collective 💕
With love,
Deborah Rose xx
