It's the 7th night (notch) of the Waxing Moon tonight. It's the night that corresponds with 1 of the 15 names of the Universal Mother (a.k.a the Supreme Moon Goddess): her name is Shivaduti Nitya, and she embodies affluence. Both spiritual and material wealth 🍯. It's also the 1st night of a Pisces Moon. Since Pisces rules the pineal gland, and Shivaduti is visualised with a Lotus in her right hand, I figured it was time to share a recipe on one of the most potent Soma Plants: the Lotus!
Meet Your Soma Plant: Lotus
P.S.: feeling the winter blues? You probably want to let this Latte pass. You may have a clear ginger tea and burn some Camphor Resin before bed instead <3
About the Lotus: You can find the Lotus all over the waters of India. Their flowers open when the Sun rises and closes at dusk. She grows from the muddy lakes and beautifully blossoms on the lakes clear surface. The way she blooms makes her the symbol of the Evolution of the Soul. She's often described as the plant that brings spiritual and material abundance to life. Lotus is a Nervine and thus relaxes the Mind. She also opens both: the root and the heart chakra. You can work with Lotus when you're in the process of bringing (spiritual) seeds you've planted into fruition. Either in a Thai stir fry (cooking time is similar to a potato). Or... Blend her powdered seeds into this delicious latte. It may evoke lucid dreams when taken 1 hour and 30 minutes before bed. Especially on a Pisces Night <3
First note: Are you a nursing mama and feel like you could do with some milk supply support? The flowers of a Lotus will increase your breastmilk. Just follow the recipe but work with petals instead of the roots.
Second note: Are you trying to conceive? Reply to this e-mail, and you will get a sample formula that may tone reproduction.
Other Lotus Actions: Digestive, Aphrodisiac, Astringent, Circulatory and Nervine.
Lucid Lotus Latte
Make this recipe twice for 2 servings: enjoy 1 serving an hour before bed and another 30 minutes before bed.
Ingredients
1 cup Freshly Boiled Water
1tsp Lotus Powder
1tsp Rose Petals or Powder
1/2tsp Ginger Powder (or boil the water with fresh ginger - 1inch, peeled)
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
Few tablespoons freshly blended or warmed nut milk (cashew is my fave for this one)
Optional: You may add 1tsp of cacao powder. If you can find petals, you may add 1tsp of these.
Optional: Yellow Saphire, other yellow gem or Amethyst
How to
Boil a cup of spring water. Add to the potency by placing a Yellow Sapphire in a tumbler of Spring of Alkalised Water during the day. Yellow Sapphire is a Pisces stone that evokes commitment, spiritual growth and wisdom. It also supports the function of the Pineal Gland (3rd Eye). Haven't got a Yellow Sapphire? Any other yellow gem will do too. Amethyst makes a good alternative.
Combine the powders in a bigger ceramic bowl. I always like to make a bigger batch so I can easily repeat the recipe for a few days. If you want this too, put it in an airtight bowl and place it somewhere dark and cool to maintain the best herb quality. Tip: freshly grinding your seeds into powders is always the freshest and most potent option. Ready ground powders are a practical alternative.
Once the water has boiled, stir your powders into the water until they dissolve. Tip: rather than a metal spoon, choose a ceramic, copper or wooden spoon to stir. You will use 2 2/3 teaspoons of the blend for the basic recipe and up to 4 2/3 teaspoons if you choose to sauce it up with cacao or blue lotus petals.
Top it off with 3 tablespoons of warm, frothy nut milk. I always have some nuts soaking and would just put 5 cashews in the Nutri Bullet with 1oz warm water. Blend it for 30 seconds for silky, frothy, yummy (!) cashew milk. Almonds are a good alternative to cashews. Not in the mood to make it fresh? Warm up some of your regular milk =)
Sip it <3
