Menstrual Health with Ayurveda 101 (Archive Piece from It's Mother Earth)
When the Fire element mixes with Water, your mind-body means business. Your senses are tuned to visualise, process, improve, co-operate and lead. The Fire element brings that little bit of Gold Smith to all dimensions in life: it takes one thing and transforms it to serve a bigger purpose. In the body it governs digestion, blood and skin health. You guessed it, it's the chief element for a healthy menstrual cycle too.
Pitta is one of the 3 Dosha's, or in other words: the binding energy between 2 elements. In this case, Fire and Water.
Besides productivity, Pitta has to do with all other (re)active processes in life. This includes the ability to bounce back, receiving feedback, managing a schedule, memorising helpful details and making decision making. Calculating in nature, Fire knows well how to deliver a message, which people to connect with and when to buy into a concept. Fire and Water are great gym partners too. Always up for a sweat and not scared of competition.
Do any of these define your day-to-day life? Check! You may very well be accumulating Pitta.
Through these activities as well as through spicy foods, alcohol, coffee, citrus fruits, unripe banana's, late dinners and working(out) through midnight you're collecting the fire element until there's an overstock. This overstock, embodied as acidity, has to leave your body through it's gateways: the stool, urine, sweat, skin and... Menses.
If that isn't enough, it'll show as a Pitta type 'a PMS + Period.
